Ascending
A sequence of increasing pitches (e.g. A, B, C)
Interval
The relationship between two notes, or difference in pitch; identified by the distance between tones (e.g. half step)
Phrygian
Third mode of the major scale

Descending
A sequence of decreasing pitches (e.g. G, F, E)
Lydian
Fourth mode of the major scale
Formula: 1, 2, 3, #4, 5, 6, 7
Sequence: W, W, W, H, W, W, H
Major Minor 7th
A standard major chord with a flat 7th interval.
